Training Vision Institute will prepare you to become counsellors and behavioural analysts and have access to the necessary toolkits and intensive practice. During a period of no more than five months ,you will have time for practice, reflection, discussion, and mentoring by your practitioners-in-training.

Module 1: History of Psychology and its Evolution Theories

In this module, you will learn the basics of psychology and behavioural science and how they relate to the history of Psychology. You will also be introduced to psychology's development overtime and key theorists who have made significant influence in the field.

Module 2: Basic Counselling Skills

The second module contains the fundamentals of counselling, from initiation to summation of sessions as introduced by Carl Rogers. You will be given the time to conduct in-person counselling sessions with your classmates through role-playing.

Module 3: Motivation and Behaviour

The last module allows you to study the main theories of motivation with the examination of needs, cognition, and social aspects. It also includes a critical analysis of research and the application of these theories to human behaviour.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Academic Minimum Entry Requirement

  • Obtained at least a C6 at N-Level in any 1 subject or
  • Obtained a NITEC or equivalent
  • A matured candidate who is at least 30 years old with at least 3 years of working experience


Local students:

  • Obtained at least a C6 at N-Level in any 1 subject or
  • Obtained a NITEC or equivalent
  • A matured candidate who is at least 30 years old with at least 3 years of working experience


International students:

  • Completed satisfactorily 12 years of schooling, or completed officially high school in the country of origin; or
  • Attained 18 years of age and above.


Language Requirement

  • WPL Level 3 (Intermediate) (Average of Reading, Listening, Speaking & Writing Scores), OR
  • IELTS 3.5 or equivalent (applicable for International students), OR
  • Successfully pass TVI English Admission Test, OR
  • Having successfully passed secondary school conducted in English

Each level may be assessed by any combination of written assessment, projects and oral interviews.

The mode of delivery will be a combination of lectures, workshops, group discussions, individual activities, experiential learning with a 1:20 teacher and student ratio.

For face-to-face class, a hard copy learner’s guide will be given, for L1 and L3 modules. For L4 and L5 modules, materials are available in TVI Online (Learning Management Systems).

Our course consultant will advise you if you need to bring along a laptop. You also have the option to loan a laptop from us for the duration of the course. You may also want to bring along a jacket in case the room gets cold.

For online classes, do ensure you have a functional laptop and have Zoom installed prior to class.

You are required to have basic computer navigational skills such as opening and closing, dragging and dropping, copying and pasting of files.
