The Diploma in InfoComm Technology aims to equip students with the analytical and computing skills necessary for the development and management of computer systems. The course offers a flexible framework for building on previous knowledge and experience towards professional aspirations within the modern computer industry.

The programme is designed to provide a challenging, stimulating, and self-rewarding study environment. It provides opportunities for students to appreciate the social and economic implications of various information and communication technologies, as well as develop a range of key skills through the study units. The curriculum is tailored to accommodate student needs in maximising their career potential by enabling them to develop relevant knowledge, understanding, and skills in their chosen subject area.

Modules covered include Computer System Technologies, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Mathematics for Computing, Web Application Development in .NET and HTML, Introduction to Python Programming, Cloud Computing Introduction, Database Systems, Design and Management, and Networking Management and Network Security. By completing these modules, students will gain an understanding of the prowess of these various technologies and applications.

Module 1: COMPUTER SYSTEM TECHNOLOGIES

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of computer system technologies toprovide learners an understanding on computer system technologies.

Module 2: OBJECT ORIENTED ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of object oriented analysis and design to provide

learners an understanding on the applications of object oriented analysis and design.

Module 3: MATHEMATIC FOR COMPUTING

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of mathematic for computing to provide learners an understanding on the applications of mathematic for computing.

Module 4: WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT IN.NET AND HTML

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of .NET and HTML to provide learners an understanding on the web application development in .NET and HTML.

Module 5: INTRODUCTION TO PYTHON PROGRAMMING

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of Python programming to provide learners an understanding on the applications of Python programming.

Module 6:CLOUD COMPUTING INTRODUCTION

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of cloud computing to provide learners an understanding on the applications of cloud computing.

Module 7: DATABASE SYSTEMS, DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of database systems, design

and management to provide learners an understanding on the applications of database systems,

design and management.

Module 8: NETWORKING MANAGEMENT AND NETWORK SECURITY

This course introduces the principles and concepts of the prowess of networking management and network security to provide learners an understanding on the applications of networking management and network security.

Academic Minimum Entry Requirement:

  • Obtained at least C6 at GCE ‘O’ Level in at least 5 subjects, including English Language; or
  • Obtained Higher Nitec or equivalent; or
  • Obtained at least Grade E or Grade C6 in 1 GCE ‘AO’ Level subject; or
  • Obtained the IB Diploma; or
  • Mature candidate who is at least 30 years of age with 8 years’ working experience.

Local Students:

  • Obtained at least C6 at GCE ‘O’ Level in at least 5 subjects, including English Language; or
  • Obtained Higher Nitec or equivalent; or
  • Obtained at least Grade E or Grade C6 at 1 GCE ‘AO’ level in 1 subject; or
  • Mature candidate who is at least 30 years of age with 8 years’ working experience.

International (STP) Students:

  • Completed satisfactorily 12 years of schooling, or completed high school in the country of origin; and
  • Attained 18 years of age and above.
  • IB Diploma or equivalent.

Language Requirement:

  • Obtained at least C6 at GCE ‘O’ Level in English Language; or
  • Obtained WPL Level 6 (Average of Reading, Listening, Speaking & Writing Scores); or
  • Attained IELTS 5.5 or equivalent (Applicable to International (STP) Students); or
  • Obtained a pass in TVI English Admission Test.

Other qualifications can be considered for entry, if they are deemed to be equivalent and will have to be approved by Director, Central Academic Division (CAD) in TVI.

Each level may be assessed by any combination of written assessment, projects, and oral interviews.

The mode of delivery will be a combination of lectures, workshops, group discussions, individual activities, experiential learning with a 1:20 teacher and student ratio.

1. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for SSG fund, failing which the participant will be liable to pay the full course fees to Training Vision Institute.

a) Met minimum 75% in attendance and in E-learning hours

b) Qualify as Competent in all WSQ Assessments

c) Met other SSG eligibility criteria

2. Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to offset the course fee after subsidies. 3. Participant with Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) can apply to use the PSEA fund for the course fee.4. Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) are not included. A non-refundable application fee of $53.50 for local students and $214 for international students will apply.
