Welcome to the Critical Core Skills (CCS) course on Thinking Critically: Creative Thinking, designed to help you develop key skills that are essential for thriving in today's dynamic and rapidly changing business landscape. Module 1: Creative Mindset, will introduce you to the fundamental principles of creative thinking, including how to connect ideas and information to propose and test ideas, improvements and solutions which challenge current assumptions or ways of working. Through this module, you will learn to develop a flexible and open-minded approach to problem-solving that will help you to generate innovative solutions that meet the needs of your organization.

Module 2: Creative Approach to Design Thinking, will build on the principles introduced in Module 1 and show you how to integrate multiple ideas and information from across various fields to develop solutions and new ways of working that address specific issues and deliver impact. You will learn to approach design thinking creatively and explore ways to apply this approach to various scenarios.

Creativity in Business Thinking (14 hours)

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this programme, learners will be able to:

  • A1: Champion organisation’s creativity and innovation goals
  • A2: Foster an organisational culture that encourages creative imagination, experimentation and innovation
  • A3: Synthesise research and information from various sources within the organisation to determine potential synergies or opportunities for organisation-wide innovation initiatives
  • A4: Evaluate the implementation of lateral, convergent and divergent thinking techniques to design “out-of-the-box” ideas, improvements or solutions which push the boundaries and solve problems
  • A5: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate compelling narratives and rationale for implementing new ideas, improvements or solutions
  • A6: Evaluate outcomes of design experiments to recommend new ideas, improvements or solutions to be implemented across the organisation
  • A7: Evaluate emerging applications of innovations or solutions across industries to determine any relevant applications within own organisation
  • A8: Establish strategies to analyse the effectiveness of creative processes across the organisation

She has a Masters of Training and Development from Griffiths University and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Western Australia. She is also ACTA certified.
