The Certificate in International Foundation Programme aims to provide students with post-secondary, broad-based foundation modules to prepare students for higher education. The programme aims to improve the student academic English, mathematics, critical thinking and study skills. There are two tracts; one for students preparing for higher learning in business related disciplines and the other preparing students for higher education in creative fields like arts and design

The Certificate in International Foundation Programme offers foundation modules in English, maths, critical thinking, and study skills to prepare students for higher education. The program has two tracts: business-related and creative fields, such as arts and design. The curriculum consists of 12 modules, including core courses on English for Foundation Studies and University Life and Study Skills, as well as electives in business, arts, and design. The program aims to improve the academic abilities of students and prepare them for success in their future studies.

Academic Minimum Entry Requirement:

  • Singapore students must have GCE O Levels with a minimum of C6 for 1 subject and be at least 16 years of age at point of entry; OR
  • NITEC; OR
  • Mature candidates>=30 years old with 8 years' work experience; OR
  • Candidates with other qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • International students with completion certificates for Year 10 from the respective home countries of the applicants. 9 year of formal education will be considered if it is equivalent to official completion of high school or secondary education in the country of origin. Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on case-by-case basis.

AND

Language Requirements:

  • GCE ‘O’ Levels English (minimum C6 grade); OR
  • WPL Level 5(Average of Reading, listening, Speaking & Writing Scores); OR
  • IELTS 5.0 OR equivalent (Applicable to International Students); OR
  • Successfully pass the TVI English Admission Test".

Each level may be assessed by any combination of written assessment, projects and oral interviews.

The mode of delivery will be a combination of lectures, workshops, group discussions, individual activities, experiential learning with a 1:20 teacher and student ratio.
