Prof. Kirpal Singh, Academic Board Chairman

Prof.Kirpal, a Colombo Plan scholar is an internationally respected poet, fictionist, and thinker. He has many books to his credit, including the highly provocative THINKING HATS & COLOUREDTURBANS: Creativity Across Cultures (2004)which contributed several original insights into the nature of Creativity, especially in terms of language. As the author of more than 150 articles and essays, Kirpal is an authority in several fields of literary endeavour as well as being, nowadays, an esteemed Futurist invited to share his visions of Future with audiences worldwide. Kirpal is the first non-American to be elected to the Board of Directors of the ACA-American Creativity Association where he has, since 2006, served as Vice-President and Chair of ACAint.

David Kwee, Academic Board Member​

Founder and CEO of Training Vision Institute. A holder of the Masters of Education from the University of Sheffield (UK), David has been in practice for more than 20 years. He has extensive experience in designing, developing and delivering real time training and consulting solutions for multinationals and home-grown companies both locally and regionally. Prior to the training and development industry, David is a sales and marketing management practitioner having spent his earlier years of corporate life in Rank Xerox and American International Assurance.

Dr. Jane Ives, Academic Board Member 

Dr. Jane Ives is an MSc. graduate of The London School of Economics, England and a PhD from the Faculty of Economics at the University of London, England. Jane Ives is the Director and Founder of the Grameen Bank and Trust, Bangladesh International Development, Global Business and Microfinance Undergraduate and Graduate MBA Student Internship Program at The Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Management, Arizona.

Ms Catherine Khaw Cheng, Academic Board Member

Catherine is an evangelist for data and analytics literacy at economy, organisationaland individual levels. She is the founder of DNA Capitals (Data & Analytics Capitals Pte Ltd) which drives competitive advantage for organisations in all industries through taking full advantage of the opportunities which arise from digitisation and big data. As a data and analytics evangelist, she is an active member of Tech Talent Assembly (TTAB) association which nurtures tech talents for lifelong employability, learning and sharing. Currently, she is also an ICT advisory committee in Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

In 2021, she received the prestigious SkillsFuture Fellowships award from President HalimahYacob.

She was formerly the Worldwide Sales predictive and BI lead in Cisco Systems and Data Strategist at IBM Greater China.

Dr. KC Chan, Academic Board Member

Spends a third of his time as an Adjunct Lecturer, Corporate Trainer, and International Management Consultant, since leaving the corporate world in 2005. He has obtained:

Post Graduate Diploma from MIT-Columbia-Dartmouth School of Management in Design & Breakthrough Innovation Thinking, Stanford University Certified Project Management (SCPM), Project Management Professional®(PMI), Practice Management Consultant (PMC) accredited by the Singapore Government, PhD (UK) and MBA (UK) from the University of Strathclyde, MSc (UK) from Cranfield University.

Dr Chan has had over 30 years of senior management experience stretching from precision manufacturing to service industry segments in 30 countries; his highest position was that of a Chief Operating Officer (COO).

EXAMINATION BOARD​
A RAHMAN BIN IBRAHIM, Examination Board Chairman​

Abdul Rahman bin Ibrahim started his career as a teacher specialising in accounting in a secondary school. He was elevated further and assumed the role of a school principal for 18 years. After leaving the Ministry of Education, he went for his further studies and attained the Master’s Degree In Social Sciences, specialising in Counselling in 2007. He counselled secondary students for the next two years and was recruited by CPE (Committee for Private Education) as an EduTrust assessor in 2010.

For the next 8 years, he was involved in the EduTrustassessments before he left to pursue a consultancy assignment.

He joined Training Vision Institute in December 2020 and assumed the role as the Director, Quality Management.

Liana Ali, Examination Board Member​

One of Training Vision’s forte is its focus on the contents and development of their courseware. As the Head of Curriculum, Liana is a highly competent and skilled professional and is dedicated, passionate in the Learning and Development space.  Equipped with WSQ DACE and ACTA, she has 15 years’ of rich experience and had designed and developed numerous courseware including OJT, leadership, service skills and other competency-based curriculum. Being a academia and a practitioner, she is also backed with strong management experiences having worked in sectors such as Tourism, Food and Beverage and Retail.  Her passion in lifelong learning too has helped Training Vision in designing and creating current, blended learning curriculum and introduced new instructional pedagogies for various levels of competencies and even higher education programmes with top-tier foreign universities.  Amongst her team, besides Curriculum Specialist, also includes the Edtech specialists, Design & Media artist and LMS management.

John Seow, Examination Board Member 

John Seow has been a human capital practitioner and consultant for more than 20 years. When he was in the corporate sector, he contributed strategically to the Learning and Development, Talent Management and Organisation Development functions of various leading multinational corporations.He has facilitated at least more than three hundred programmes in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Currently, he oversees the trainer, assessor and developer function in Training Vision Institute.

Sheryl Tan, Examination Board Member

Sheryl’s background in customer service and marketing research with an independent marketing research company and spearheading the marketing research department in a renowned hotel chain.She has also been involved in training the frontline staff in customer service, communications, teambuilding, supervisory skills etc. Her stint in training combined with her marketing background clearly positions her as an invaluable asset to understand user needs, design creative marketing solutions and set-up an ongoing customer relations management strategy and system.
