This cybersecurity course is comprised of modules focusing on IT and security strategy, threat analysis, cyber risk management, crisis management, audit and compliance. These will cultivate your skills in developing strategic knowledge in security models, secure systems development, risk assessment, as well as legal, regulatory and compliance issues.

In today’s digital landscape, creating a cybersecure organisation should be on top priority. While getting ahead of the hackers and other security risks is everyone’s job, it should also be an overall commitment to establish a cybersecure culture within your organisation. This Post-Graduate Diploma will provide you with all the necessary skills in creating this culture, as it should start and end at the highest level of management.

This Post-Graduate Diploma contains 6 modules, which may be completed in 6 - 8 months.

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded a certificate by Training Vision Institute, in collaboration with Georgetown University.

Module 1: IT Strategy (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning)

Create an IT strategy and develop transformation initiatives to meet business requirements and support the modernisation of the IT landscape. The first part of the course examines the business case for building a cybersecurity strategy, including the resources, obstacles, and stakeholders involved.

Module 2: Threat Analysis and Defence (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning)

Establish an enterprise threat defence and mitigation strategy, incorporating new techniques to combat threats and attacks. The first part of the course will cover vulnerabilities and weaknesses of software and hardware environments that must be secured.

Module 3: Cyber Risk Management (Classroom & Asynchronous e-learning)

Develop cyber risk assessment techniques, and roll-out endorsed measures to address identified cybersecurity risks, threats and vulnerabilities. Technical countermeasures such as encryption, antiviruses, firewalls, intrusion detections, and penetration testing will be discussed. Students will also develop the skills both to conduct and understand the results of security, threat, and risk assessments.

Module 4: Audit and Compliance (Classroom and Asynchronous)

Establish audit and compliance strategy and objectives for the organisation, ensuring the robustness of internal controls are strengthened. Key mechanisms to manage risks, such as relationship management, authentication and authorisation controls, contract provisions, and industry-standard certification, will be explored.

Create a security vision for the organisation and establish an overarching information security strategy and frameworks.


Module 6: Crisis Management (Classroom and Asynchronous)

Develop and implement crisis management plans for organizational preparedness of disruptive events within the broader context of business continuity management--Manage crises.

Academic Admissions Criteria for Local Students:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline conducted in English
  • Mature candidate who is at least 30 years of age with 8 years’ supervisory or management experience.

International Students:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline conducted in English
  • The candidate must be of a minimum of 21 years of age.

English Language Requirement:

  • GCE ‘O’ Level pass in English Language with a minimum grade of C6; or
  • WPL Advance (Average of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing Scores); or
  • Successfully passed TVI English Admission Test.

Other qualifications can be considered for entry if they are deemed to be equivalent and will have to be approved by Director, Central Academic Division (CAD) in TVI.

Core knowledge for all modules is delivered via online learning. Almost all modules will involve learning through projects, which may be on an individual or group basis.

The online learning content is provided by Training Vision Institute and Georgetown University and prepares the student for the professional certifications.

Sessions are facilitated by subject matter experts who are highly qualified with years of domain experience in the world of digital marketing and campaign strategies. These sessions will build the learners’ knowledge and abilities in key areas as defined by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) framework.

Assessment methodology is based on the SSG framework for competency. SSG is the statutory board under the Ministry of Education driving and coordinating the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement to promote a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning in Singapore. SSG also incorporates the Committee for Private Education (CPE), which is the regulatory authority for all private education institutions in Singapore. All assessors are ACTA-certified with domain experience and knowledge. Assessments may be formative or summative. As a competency base framework, assessment plans have the endorsement of TVI’s Examination Board and approval of SSG.

Each level may be assessed by any combination of written assessment, projects and oral interviews.

The mode of delivery will be a combination of lectures, workshops, group discussions, individual activities, experiential learning with a 1:20 teacher and student ratio.

1. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for SSG fund, failing which the participant will be liable to pay the full course fees to Training Vision Institute.

a) Met minimum 75% in attendance and in E-learning hours

b) Qualify as Competent in all WSQ Assessments

c) Met other SSG eligibility criteria

2. Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to offset the course fee after subsidies.

3. Participant with Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) can apply to use the PSEA fund for the course fee.

4. Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) are not included. A non-refundable application fee of $54 for local students and $216 for international students will apply.

He is also the Co-founder AITIS Singapore, an advanced, explainable AI platform for financial, health care and security industries. Consequently, he is the Chairman and Co-Founder Narwhal Financial Systems, a FINTECH innovation company that helps the financial services institutions to digitalise their businesses. Patrick is currently the Director and Chief Information Officer of the Finance and Treasury Division of the World Bank.

David Papkin

In the last 5 years, Jimmy has delivered as an adjunct lecturer, accounting, banking & corporate finance modules for degrees offered by British universities in Singapore. He has trained operational, supervisory, and managerial staff and conducted talks for a diverse group of clients from government agencies, non-profit organizations, financial services, manufacturing, education, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, sales as well as marketing. Currently, he also advises and assists his clients on corporate strategies and financing, personal data protection and talent acquisition.

Kevin Corcoran

Kevin provides technology strategy services for national security sector clients. He leads Deloitte’s Global IT Business Management capability with 18 years combined public sector leadership and full SDLC technology consulting experience working in over 50 countries. Co-author for; Improving Services and Transparency in Emerging Governments Through Business Process Automation, for the United Nations International Council on e-Governance. He holds an MBA from Duke University and an MS Information Technology from the University of Virginia.

Phuong Nguyen

Phuong assists the National Coordinator for Forensic Technology and Cyber Investigations in working with clients to develop insider threat programs, data protection programs and responding to, investigating, and remediating cyber incidents. Phuong consults with U.S. federal law enforcement agencies, key executives of Fortune 100 companies, Fortune 500 C-Suite officials, and Boards of Directors from across industry sectors on cybersecurity and investigations. Phuong remains an adjunct faculty professor at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies where he instructs two courses in a graduate Cybersecurity certificate program. His courses focus on managing security and leadership & strategy in cybersecurity.

John Harmon

As a Regional Sales Manager, John leads sales and capture for the US Intelligence Community, DOD, and Federal Law Enforcement. He has spent the past 15 years in the US Intelligence Community as a SIGINT analyst, cyber capabilities developer, technical team lead in cyber security. From 2009 to 2015 Mr Harmon was a partner at Tactical Network Solutions (TNS). He also headed operations for Tactical Network Solutions where he led federal and commercial business development, sales, capture, recruiting, and teaming efforts. From 2002 to 2009, John was an Analyst at the National Security Agency. During his time at NSA, he received 6 awards including a Deckert/Foster Engineering Award, NSA’s most prestigious engineering award.
