Training Vision Institute offers the Mid-Career Ready programme, a course specially designed for people in their mid-career who wants to develop the right mindset and work habits to be more efficient and productive in their workplaces.

Conducted in both English and Chinese, this course is composed of modules that revolve around the topics of workplace safety, basic productivity practices, initiative and enterprising behaviours, problem solving and decision making—all of which, if done correctly, can make you efficient and more productive in your workplace.

It is important to be updated with the new innovations in today’s workforce—it is fast-changing and heavily influenced by digitalisation and technological advances. Upskilling and reskilling are now a requirement if you want to keep a smooth career and achieve a fast advancement. This programme is an opportunity for you to be capable of changing your mindset and transforming challenges into possibilities.

The Mid-Career programme is composed of 4 modules which may be completed in a total of 64 hours.

Upon completion of each module, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded by SSG.

Module 1: Comply with Workplace Safety & Health Policies & Procedures (Synchronous e-learning)

On completion of this unit, learners will be able to identify their roles and responsibilities under the Workplace Safety and Health Act. Familiar with hazard identification and risk control procedures in relation to their industry.

Module 2: Demonstrate Initiative and Enterprising Behaviours

On completion of this unit, the learner will be able to demonstrate innovation and initiative on sustaining continuous improvement at their workplace while identifying, evaluating and managing risks associated with innovating and taking initiative at an individual level.

Module 3: Perform Basic Productivity Practices (Synchronous e-learning)

On completion of this unit, the learner will acquire the knowledge and skills in performing basic productivity practises in their workplace.

Module 4: Solve Problems and Make Decisions at Supervisory Level (Synchronous e-learning)

On completion of this unit, learners will acquire the techniques in problem-solving and decision making, including proactively identifying the root causes to a problem, generating and evaluating alternative solutions, making appropriate decisions and taking responsibility for the decisions within their circle of influence.

•Intermediate English proficiency (WPL4 and above) is required as we conduct bilingual classes

•Able to use a laptop, desktop computer and a mobile phone.

The Mid-Career Ready programme is designed to be interactive and engaging. The mode of delivery includes mini-lectures, plenary discussion, participative group discussions, role-play sessions, presentations, as well as case studies. The variety of class activities and participation methods will encourage you to use and develop your soft skills as you progress.

The assessment methods may vary according to the individual module requirement. Each module is assessed by a combination of class participation, written assignments, project work, and examinations.

1. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents have to meet the following conditions to be eligible for SSG fund, failing which the 
participant will be liable to pay the full course fees to Training Vision Institute.

a) Met minimum 75% in attendance and in E-learning hours

b) Qualify as Competent in all WSQ Assessments

c) Met other SSG eligibility criteria

2. Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to offset the course fee after subsidies.
3. Participant with Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) can apply to use the PSEA fund for the course fee.
4. Fee Protection Scheme (FPS) are not included. A non-refundable application fee of $53.50 for local students and $214 for international students will apply.

For face-to-face class, a hard copy learner’s guide will be given, for L1 and L3 modules. For L4 and L5 modules, materials are available in TVI Online (Learning Management Systems).

Our course consultant will advise you if you need to bring along a laptop. You also have the option to loan a laptop from us for the duration of the course. You may also want to bring along a jacket in case the room gets cold.

For online classes, do ensure you have a functional laptop and have Zoom installed prior to class.

You are required to have basic computer navigational skills such as opening and closing, dragging and dropping, copying and pasting of files.
